About Lucy:
Lucy studied Fashion and Textiles at Bristol UWE and soon after graduating in 2001 with a degree, launched her own collection of upcycled clothes for women and began teaching her tricks in workshops across the UK and abroad. She also has worked in the realm of Community Arts and building creative communities is at the heart of everything she does.
Since joining Open Arts in 2023 Lucy has run a variety of sewing courses, Swap events and took part in the monthly arts and craft parties and Summer Camp workshops. She specialises in children's creative education but recognises adults love to have fun too so this year she has relaunched STITCH MACHINE for adults.
She is also a co-organizer of a community sewing meetup STITCH CAFE CADIZ and is keen in sharing her passion for sustainable fashion and the urgent fight to reduce clothing waste.
